Globalstar “Universal 1500” Annual Plan

An affordable entry-level annual plan for more active users. If you expect to use your Globalstar satellite phone or Sat-Fi hotspot quite a bit throughout the year, this is a good plan for you!  You receive 1500 minutes of airtime, which can be consumed at any point throughout the year. Once you use this up, you will pay a low per-minute fee for any additional airtime that you consume.

Globalstar Annual Airtime Plans

Globalstar airtime plans are among the most affordable satellite phone plans in the industry. These annual airtime options are hassle-free and you will always have airtime available when you need it. As an added bonus, all annual plans come with a specific amount of included minutes that can be consumed at any point throughout the year. Annual plans are still billed on a monthly basis—there is a monthly access fee to keep your subscription active, and any airtime consumed over-and-above the included minute-bundle is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. These overage fees will appear on your monthly statements once you’ve consumed your yearly included minute-bundle. STEP 1: Order
The “add-to-cart” price reflects the one-time activation fee for this plan and will be billed to you at checkout.

STEP 2: Complete A Service Application
After successfully checking out, we will email you an application form for the Globalstar annual plan of your choice. Fill this out and email it back to us. We’ll set-up your account, ship your SIM card and equipment (if ordered) and schedule your activation.

We can activate your service whenever you need it. Simply state your desired activation date on the application. We remotely activate your service on the date you specified. Don’t worry, we’re flexible—if your dates need to change, let us know!

Annual Billing

All Globalstar annual airtime plans are postpaid on a monthly basis. This means you will receive an invoice at the end of each month, which reflects the total charges due that month (equal to the posted plan rate divided by 12 months, plus any billable airtime, and taxes) along with your remaining yearly minute balance. Charges will be billed to you by Globalstar directly.

Why do I get billed monthly if this is an annual plan?

The use of the word “Annual” refers to the included minute-bundle, not the billing cycle. Unlike a “monthly” plan, the included minutes with any annual plan can be consumed at any point throughout the year.

When you buy your Globalstar satellite phone with an airtime plan, you will be charged for the one-time activation fee of the monthly or annual plan that you select, plus the price of the phone. Each month, you will receive an invoice from Globalstar for the monthly subscription cost of your plan, plus any billable airtime that you’ve consumed.

We offer monthly and annual airtime plans for all of our globalstar products. Both monthly and annual plans come with included airtime—once all included airtime is consumed, usage is billed on a per-minute basis. The subscription fees for monthly and annual plans are billed on a monthly basis—but included airtime can be consumed differently for each type of plan

  • Voice calls within Home Zone will be billed first minute then 30 second increments.

  • Data calls will be included and billed in 15 second increments.
  • Unused airtime will not be rolled over to the next billing cycle.

What’s the Difference between Annual and Monthly Plans?

If both plan types are billed on a monthly basis, what’s the difference?

There are two main differences between Globalstar’s annual and monthly plans:

  1. An annual plan automatically renews on a 12 month contract year after year. A monthly plan has an initial term of 12 months and then automatically renews on month-to-month terms following the first year of service.
  2. Airtime minutes that are included with your monthly plan are valid on a month-to-month basis—if you don’t use them, you lose them! Airtime minutes that are included with your annual plan are valid for the entire year and can be consumed in any amount, at any point, throughout the year.

Why Choose an Annual Plan over a Monthly Plan?

Each monthly plan comes with a set amount of minutes per month—these minutes are not cumulative from month-to-month meaning that if you don’t use them, you lose them.

There will likely be some months when you do not use your Globalstar device, meaning you didn’t take advantage of the included airtime—which you’ve essentially paid for through the monthly fee of your plan.

On the other hand, there will likely be months when you use your Globalstar device quite often—potentially consuming more airtime than is included with your plan that month. This means you’ll have to pay additional per-minute charges on top of the monthly fee.

So, Annual plans are a good choice if:

You have seasonal requirements and will use up more airtime in certain months than in others. In these cases, an annual plan gives you more flexibility by providing a larger amount of included (“paid for”) minutes that can be consumed at one time.
